NanoDAY, the reference multi-sector day in Catalonia on the trends and successful cases of application of nanoscience and nanotechnology, will take place next October 9 in the auditorium of the Movistar Center in Barcelona.
The NanoDAY conference, which is celebrated around the International Day of Nanoscience and Nanotechnology, aims to show the latest trends, cases and application experiences of what is currently considered a key technology for the industry of the century 21st
This year's conference will be held under the motto "For a sustainable and responsible nanotechnology" and is organized by the MAV Cluster, together with the Scientific and Technological Centers (CCiTUB), the Institute of Nanoscience and Nanotechnology of the University of Barcelona (IN2UB ), the Catalan Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (ICSSL) and the Agency for Business Competitiveness (ACCIÓ).
The event will be focused on the promotion of innovative and sustainable practices in the field of nanotechnology and will bring together fifteen experts, researchers and companies who will discuss recent advances in nanotechnology and how these can be implemented in a responsible and respectful way the environment and people.
Due to its transversal nature, nanotechnology impacts on most of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), providing advanced solutions for health, energy, water and other critical areas. Participants will have the opportunity to share knowledge, explore collaborations and discuss the policies needed to ensure that the development of nanotechnology contributes to a more sustainable future, in the broadest sense of the word.
NanoDAY 2024 will open with an introduction to the state of the art by Pedro A. Serena, ICMM-CSIC researcher and author of the book Nanotechnology for sustainable development, and will consist of three thematic tables where they will be presented different cases of application in transversal sectors by different organizations, placing spatial emphasis on this year's theme. At the end of the presentations, three debate tables will take place around energy, water and agri-food; medicine, pharmaceuticals and cosmetics, and occupational safety and risks.
The conference is free and open to any person or entity interested in sustainable development and the responsible application of nanotechnology. Participation requires prior registration through this link.
